Denise ChapmanFinancial Controller

Bio

An animal lover, married with 2 sons and 2 grandchildren, I grew up locally and now live near Wimborne, sharing our home with an African Grey parrot.

I started my career in the banking industry and have had a variety of jobs over the years including working in an independent school and running a Pre-school. Prior to joining the Smart Team, I worked for Merlin Entertainments for 13 years in various roles while they grew from a small family style business into a full blown international PLC.

I am passionate about my work and love to learn new things.  I qualified to teach under 5s when my boys were young but I studied for my accounting qualifications whilst at Merlin.  I believe you are never too old to learn which is why I’m currently studying for my Chartered Tax Advisor qualification.

Interesting Fact

I ran the London Marathon twice, in 2013 and 2015 which goes to show you can achieve anything if you are prepared to work at it.
